Passion ...
I've been thinking a lot about work lately and what I really like to do. May be easy for some of you to identify what you like to do -- in fact, you may even be working at something you love.
Problem for me (or not) -- is I always like the work I'm doing. Started in college I think when I was an early morning janitor. Nothing gave me more pleasure than having my hallways and room buffed to perfection.
And -- no matter what I've done for work -- I always enjoyed the work. (Not always true of some of the people I worked with -- but that -- as they say -- is another story).
And I've always liked doing MANY things ... (Who says having ADD is a handicap! LOL!)
Now, as I'm looking at this blog site -- you can probably tell what I am passionate about.
Yup, it's always been photography.
Yes, I like writing a good story ... or putting together a marketing campaign ... or creating a public relations program ...
But NOTHING is better for me than taking my camera and heading out on a photo safari. That always makes me happy.
And then I have to process the photos -- which doesn't make me so happy -- (and I miss Jocelyn -- my daughter who for that past few years has taken that burden off me but is for now living on the East Coast helping out one of her brothers -- my son -- Jonathan and his wife Summer and their girls).
Anyway, I am thinking about this today as I am processing photos -- and I have many miles yet to go today before I sleep.
But Wow! The photos today are VERY good (even if I do say so myself!) LOL!
So it is all good!

Happy Thursday, I think ...
Does it ever seem to you that you wake up and can't really remember what day it is?
At 5:00 am this morning, I'm thinking it is Thursday -- now it could be Wednesday -- but I'm not sure. The days all seem to pretty much run together, not a lot differentiating them ... oh sure, the seasons here are fairly easy to separate ... the rain is a little warmer in the summer ... that's how I know it isn't summer yet ... but the days ... marked by work, drive, eat, sleep ... not a lot different.
I am looking forward to Friday because I am going to work from home. Need to update some of my technology ... and have to go to the Verizon store at the mall and learn how to use my phone. They should have a class for us old folks. Kids know everything today! LOL!
Last night, I photographed Andrea and Steve's wedding album. It looks quite good, I think. Producing it has been a months-long project. EVERYTHING that could go wrong, did. Just a nightmare. But, that's a tale for another day.
Baked some bread last night. Woke up to smell of a fresh baked loaf. Which, of course, makes me wheeze. So, the trade off ... great bread vs. wheezing. I always opt for the bread ... and take some extra asthma medication. You can tell I have my priorities straight. Ha!
So, the day has begun ... "Hi-ho! Hi-ho! It's off to work I go ..."

My Sister's Blog ...
Thanks, Cheryl, for writing a tribute to our Mom who passed away about 4 years ago.
http://blackgata.blogspot.com/
Like my sister, I find myself missing Mom and wondering how she is doing. I remember her every time I look at Mt. Rainier or see a daffodil ... and I miss not being able to talk politics with her ... or talk about work or just life in general.
Mom was always supportive of us ... always had a kind word. So many good memories.
Thanks, Cheryl, for reminding me.
