So today, I want to give you five strategies you can use right now to simplify your life and reduce stress.
Here they are:
1. Know when to say “NO”.
You must say “no” to anything that prevents you from focusing on what’s most important to you. Your life’s energy, your time, your money, your emotional well being are precious resources. You must use them wisely. If you spend them on things that matter least, you will not have them available for what matters most.
An easy way to say “no”? Try this phrase, “That doesn’t work for me right now.” It’s a soft and kind way to say “no”.
2. Create a “STOP DOING” list.
You’ve used a “To Do” list, haven’t you? Well, this is the other side of the coin.
Identify those activities, tasks, reports, meetings and projects that do not directly support what is most important to you. Work through the “Stop Doing” list – and you’ll find more time available to concentrate on the “To Do” side of things.
Simplicity allows you to see your goals clearly and directly. Stay focused.
You’ve used this in business before. It simply means that you must identify the 20% of the tasks or activities that yield 80% of your results. Focus on the “vital few” instead of the “trivial many”.
5. Schedule “FOCUS TIME” at the beginning of each day.
Put it on your calendar. Do it each day. Focus on the items that are most important to you.
Good Selling!
